Day #5 (Wednesday)

We slept in yesterday morning because we knew we had an extra long day ahead of us. We hit the streets just in time for lunch. There is a cute Cantina right next door to our hotel with rooftop dining. We ate lunch here - Lucy's Cantina Royale:

Excellent Food! We had Chips 'n Salsa (you have to buy your chips 'n salsa here in NY at Mexican restaurants). Daniel had the Chicken La Casa Salad and I had the Skirt Steak Burrito (the burrito was stamped with their name):

This was a fun place to eat!

After lunch we headed uptown to The Lion King. Absolutely amazing! We had really great seats. It was a little different seeing broadway with a lot of kids. They clapped for EVERYTHING. Even when Mufasa died. No photography was allowed in the theater, sorry.
I only have pics of the outside:

After the show we stopped at Junior's for a quick snack. Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake!

It was marvelous!

OK. Now we headed to the Yankee/Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium! We got on the subway for a long ride uptown.

While we were on the subway (which was packed) a guy shouted, "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!" I started to freak out. I knew it was one of two things. 1. We were all going to get shot up. 2. It was a flash mob. I was totally hoping it was a flash mob because I have ALWAYS wanted to be around for one of those. If you don't know what that is check this one out here. As I was preparing myself for the cast of Mary Poppins on broadway to bust out with Supercalafragelisticexpialodoscious, the guy proceeds to say, "I'm selling candy to help keep me off the streets, I have skittles, m&ms, starbursts, and kit kats and they're a dollar a piece." What!? I was so wanting to hear "A spoon full of sugar" not some dude selling it! Oh well, at least it wasn't a gun. (The funny thing is that today on a totally different subway we heard, "Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention please!" HA HA - same guy!

Back to the game for those of you who are still with me. We had great seats:

It was H.O.T. HOT!

Best hot dog I have ever had in myLIFE:

Daniel's 3 panoramic shots (day, evening, night):

Out of the entire stadium we had a crazy guy sitting one row over from us. He was a Red Sox fan. From the minute he walked into the seats he was shouting for his favorite teammate, "Pedroia, Pedroia, Pedroia!" Over and over and over again. Clapping loudly, and drinking. Chanting, "Let's go Red Sock!" clap clap clap clap clap "Let's go Red Sock!" Apparently the team is no longer a pair of "Sox". They are now just ONE red sock:

We secretly snapped a shot of a guy's cell phone text message in front of us. It pretty much sums up what everyone around us was thinking:

I for one actually thought the guy was really funny. He added some spice to the game. He really wasn't being rowdy, he was just loud. He kept telling people around him that he has love for the team in his heart and that he always has them on his mind, but peace and love to the yankee fans.

LONG story short....he was kicked out of the game as everyone was chanting explicatively about him simultaneously.

I was kind of bummed that he was gone.

These people were high-fiving since he was kicked out:

Anyways, annoying fan and all, it was a really fun game!
